Marsha Lynn Lagrone July 10, 1952 – January 13, 2019 Marsha Lagrone, 66, of College Station, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019, in her home embraced by the love of her Husband, Sons, Sister and close friends. Her family will honor her life with a visitation beginning at 1:30 pm, with a Life Tribute Celebration beginning at 2:30 pm, on Saturday, January 26, 2019, with Certified Life Celebrant Dawn Lee Wakefield, officiating. Cremation services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Centers, Bryan-College Station. Born on July 10, 1952, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, Marsha is the daughter of Thomas Ellis Van Norman and Tullie Louise Smith Van Norman. Marsha was skilled in many trades. Marsha was a draftsman for Exxon Corporation, and also worked in the title business. Marsha was most recently self-employed running a mobile trucking service. Even within her final year, Marsha pursued many new opportunities. She knew the value of hard work and never turned away from a challenge. She graduated from the University of Houston with an associate’s degree. Her most favorite vacation spot was in Hawaii, visiting Maui while enjoying the many walks along the Black Sand Beaches and touring the volcanoes along the way. She was very much a cruise enthusiast and always encouraged friends to join her when possible. Among her other favorite vacation spots there was New York City. She and her Family experienced a white Christmas while visiting New York to see their son Heath for Christmas. Mount Evans in Colorado, the highest point in North America made the list of favorite’s spots for its scenic views. Marsha’s other favorite passions included trying new foods, and new restaurants, the experience brought her great joy. Some of her favorite dishes included Fried Steak, Chocolate Pie, Cornbread Dressing, Sauerkraut and Chicken and Dumplings. Marsha loved thanksgiving and enjoyed waking up early to start an always large thanksgiving lunch for her family. Marsha gathered her family for one last feast on Christmas Day 2018, teaching her sons and daughter in law how to prepare cornbread stuffing, and other delightful dishes. She was a true family centered lady making her house into her home for her children. She and Ron Lagrone married forty years ago in Houston, Texas. Together they proved for each other unconditionally in faith, hope and love. Their three children have come to share in that union and will miss seeing their parents together as one. Her parents, Thomas Van Norman and Tullie Van Norman, precede her in death. She is survived by her husband, Ron Lagrone; her sons, Jerry Little, Heath Lagrone, Brett and wife Amanda Lagrone, and Blake Lagrone; her sister Elizabeth Cochran; and close friends and other relatives.
