On Aug. 26, 2019, a huge fire blazed through a plot of land adjacent to Northwest Portland's Lumberyard BMX park, nearly setting it alight - until the quick action of the fire crews and a cinder block wall stopped it short. A few days later, I went with KOIN's Cole Miller to take a look at what was almost lost - and what is at the heart of this local institution.
