After the tragic deaths of two Illinois State Police Troopers, who were both hit and killed along the side of the road, 13 WREX put together a month-long series on Scott's Law called Lives on the Line. Scott's Law is a law in Illinois that requires motorists to move over or slow down for cars parked or stranded along the side of a road. The 13 News team took on a dozen stories to help viewers understand the dangerous safety implications law enforcement, tow truck drivers, construction workers, etc. face when drivers fail to move over.
