McHenry County Sheriff's Deputy Jacob Keltner was killed in the line of duty in Rockford last year. 13 News provided comprehensive team coverage throughout the day, including live reports from the scene, live press conferences, stories from across the community and numerous live police processions as the community paid its respects to Deputy Keltner's ultimate sacrifice. The coverage not only allowed people at home to stay updated on the story, but the coverage brought the viewer to them emotional scenes in the aftermath of the tragedy. A true team effort on a very difficult day.
