Oscar is an educational campaign that makes recycling easy and accessible to all. Oscars reaches all communities through its recycling application, giving its users insight and information about their waste. The dashboard tab allows users to quickly find answers to recycling questions about specific items or materials along with a quick view of the tracker. With the option to search by scanning a product's barcode, search by material and product type, or by using the search bar, users can find exactly what they want to recycle within 3 taps. In the Schedule tab, users can see their personal trash pickup days along with upcoming Oscar events. In the month view, users can see all pickup days, upcoming “No time to waste” events, and any holidays that would affect garbage pickup days. The resources tab provides educational tools to living a sustainable lifestyle and learning how to help the planet. Choose from DIYS to learn how to best reuse old items and products, read blog posts to hear writer’s opinions on living a sustainable lifestyle, find scientific articles to dive deeper into the climate crisis, find relevant news articles to stay up to date on current events, and see sustainable products that are trusted by our team. The tracker tab allows users to understand their impact, comparing their emissions to everyday items like water bottles and plastic bags. We want to encourage users to consume and waste less by providing visual information that would show their progress towards a more sustainable lifestyle.
