Second to oil, the clothing and textile industry is the largest polluter in the world. 85% of post consumer textile waste ends up in a landfill, even though 95% can be reused and recycled. Sustainable living needn't mean installing solar panels or selling all your worldly possessions to live off the land. There are many small steps that we can take towards a more environmentally friendly lifestyle without stepping foot out the door. We all have clothes or textiles that we don’t want any more or are past their best. The good news is that there are lots of simple ways to keep all clothing in use, and out of the bin. As Réparation Club we would gladly take those unwanted garments and give them a new life by up-cycling them into more eco-friendly items. Plus it is up to you to decide what your clothes will turn into! By offering a new ecologically conscious and sustainable way of shopping we aim to prevent textile products from ending up in landfills. Through the reuse of clothes and textiles, we can avoid pollution and energy-intensive production of new clothing.
