The importance of French Language by CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

During the first unit of inquiry about French speaking countries, a class of grade 10 CIS students in phase 5 and 6 Language Acquisition French programme explored what the International Organisation of the Francophonie (IOF) is all about. After learning about the importance that the French language plays in the world, students decided to create their own video to showcase the value of using this language. As the saying goes, all good things must be shared so their teacher Ms Odile De Troy reached out to the IOF to see if they would be interested in viewing the students’ video. To their pleasant surprise, Karen-Anne Mallet (Programme Attaché at the Directorate of Youth IOF) responded positively. With this encouraging news and the support of the CIS Marcom team, the students worked hard to improve their video—hoping that their work would open the door to fruitful exchanges between CIS and the IOF.
