Eclypse on 210 - the Roadie's Story by Boz Hayward

In the early 1980s, while in the 6th form, I had a weekend job being a roadie for a covers showband called Eclypse. Playing the social club and hotel dance circuit was a bit different from performing in my post-punk band Both Sides. It was the real world of working class entertainment, the world of 'Pheonix Nights', of Friday or Saturday night dances or cabarets - mainstream post-war entertainment. Eclypse got an interview slot on Radio 210, the local commercial radio station, to promote an EP that was about to be released. I taped it and recently found the cassette. So, with the purpose of having this documented, I made this film - another Bert Weill DIY effort. I have kept the advertisements, bits of news and sport so the backdrop of the Falklands War and the FA Cup Final is there.
