One of the unexpected consequences following the formation of the Save the Bay Foundation in 1963 was that predators returned to the Bay. Cetaceans, specifically harbor porpoises, dolphins, whales and sharks, now thrive in what was once a dead body of water following the end of World War II. Dr. Jonathan Stern, my friend and partner in this film project, discovered that harbor porpoises had returned to the Bay about 7 years ago. Tragically, Jon died on the very day that Jessica and I completed the final cut of the film. He never got to see the completed film. The film has been screened at the 2018 Santa Cruz Film Festival, the 2018 Tiburon Film Festival, and the 2018 San Francisco International Ocean Film Festival. The film won the Citizen Science Award at the 2018 San Francisco International Ocean Film Festival.
